BBG 2015: Live Webcast, Festivals, Laura Love, and more

Stardate 2015

Here we all are in another brand New Year! May it be full of good health, happiness, prosperity, and safe journeys!

2014 brought about a lot of growth for BBG but also a lot of hard transition, reminding us that this life is temporary and overwhelming and calls for compassion. Lots of hugs and support kept us going. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and messages.

2015 is already buzzing. First up, Friday, January 23 at 7pm, The Amazon Primer - a live webcast concert from our home town to the screen of your choice! LIVE LINK:  (only $1 or more if you can; please allow time to log in with credit card info). Then Valentine's Day in Austin, TX and spreading the love to Houston. The 3rd Annual Amazon Music Festival in April brings Cris Williamson, Ubaka Hill, The Traveling Fates and many others to Fayetteville, AR. We will reunite with Laura Love at the 40th National Women's Music Festival in WI over 4th of July. We are excited to be at Camp Gaea in Kansas 2 times this year, both for Heartland Pagan Festival in May and Gaea Goddess Gathering in September.

We will let you know as other opportunities arise. We are grateful for your love and enthusiasm for the music. Thanks for your support and encouragement!

JAN. 23 - Amazon Primer - Live Webcast and DJ Dance to follow

January 23, 2015 Big Bad Gina presents the Amazon Primer at the Magnuson Grand Hotel (I 540 & MLK; same hotel as last year). Doors open at 6:30pm. Live music starts at 7pm and will be live webcast through Concert Window. Following a set by BBG, stay for a DJ dance - all women's vocals - all welcome. Tickets are $10 at the door.

CANCELATION - Death in the Family

Halloween and Houston portions of the Texas Tour were canceled due to a death in the family. Beloved father of Melodie, Dr. Carl Griffis, passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 31, 2014, at Regency Hospital from a long struggle with esophageal cancer.  He was a well known, well loved, Emeritus Professor of Engineering at the University of Arkansas for the past 43 years. His memories are cherished by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Jo Griffis, and his 4 children and 5 grandchildren, among many colleagues and students. Many of you have met both of Mel's parents at our local performances. Their pride and encouragement in Big Bad Gina has made us all family for the past five years. Although there is much grieving, there is much celebration of knowing him and loving him. A tribute was held and well attended at the U of A in Fayetteville, AR. There, everyone who spoke, told of how kind a man and valuable a teacher he was to them. He is dearly missed.

Big Bad Immense Profuse Thanks to Laura Love and Mary McFaul for bringing us onboard and offering this incredible opportunity. We are so grateful and looking forward to this new musical adventure! We have begun the journey west and have been enjoying the sites along the way with so much more in store. We have several performances scheduled with Laura Love from Washington to Oregon to California. A complete schedule can be found on our calendar page. We will trade, share and combine sets with Laura who, like BBG, is genre hoppin'. Her music bounces from bits of the blues, bluegrass, jazz, and folk to gospel, reggae, and country; all mixed up and described as Folk-Funk, Afro-Celtic, Hip-Alachian. We encourage you to find out for yourself what Laura Love's music does for your soul by visiting However, a live Laura Love performance is an experience and one you won't forget and combined with Big Bad Gina is some Big Bad Love!!
